Contextually, Pb2Au (‘lead to gold’) refers to the alchemy of transmutation from theory to practice that, though not mystical in nature, often mystifies and intimidates the uninitiated inventor.

Metaphorically, we are alchemists working with you to assemble all required elements, both tangible and otherwise, describing and defining your innovation, as necessary, to protect your intellectual property (IP); to analyze and characterize your development progress to the point of prototype testing, whether for clinical, engineering, or other practical purposes; and to examine your company’s capacity to commercialize and market effectively and profitably.

Let’s face it, your intellectual prowess notwithstanding; most of you inventors need step-by-step directions if you hope smoothly to negotiate that perilous pathway, strewn with obstacles, pitfalls, and (even) landmines between where you are now and your technological innovation’s ultimate landmark success. A creative scientist, this writer has been where you are now, knows this territory, and has both seen and heard myriad horror stories thereof. As one might expect, my legal and business colleagues have seen even worse missteps than have I. The worst of the breakdowns and ‘failures to thrive’ along the development trail is not merely what the hapless inventor forfeits, rather it is humanity’s tragic loss when a great idea tarnishes, founders, and sinks like lead into the abyss.
